Mrs. Clementia Zblewski


Mrs Clementina Zblewski, 83, of 121 Portage St., was pronounced dead on arrival at St Michael's Hospital at about 3:15 A.M. today. She was hurried there by ambulance after having been home for a week since a one month previous hospitalization.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 A.M. at St. Peters Catholic church and burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 P.M. Saturday. Rosaries will be recited there Saturday at 7:00 P.M. by the Catholic Women's Club of which Mrs Zblewski was a member, and at 7:30 by St. Hedwig's Court of No. 745, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, of which a daughter, Mrs Mary Eichman is a member. A general rosary will be said at the funeral home at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday.
Mrs Zblewski, the former Clementina Disher, was born in Poland on Nov. 23, 1875, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Disher. She came to the United States at the age of five years, with her parents, and the settled on a farm in the town of Sharon. She was married on Jan. 23, 1899, to August Okoniewski at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at Fancher. They farmed in the town of Sharon for a time, then moved to Stevens Point.

In July 1914, in Stevens Point she was married to Michael Zblewski. They lived in Stevens Point, for a brief period, then moved back to Stevens Point and Mr. Zblewski died on Sept. 21, 1926. After his death Mrs. Zblewski moved back to Stevens Point and lived here continuously since.
She is survived by one son,Steve Okoniewski, who lives at the Portage St address; three daughter's, Mrs. Eichman in Milwaukee, Mrs, Florian (Agnes) Jerzak, Town of Hull and Mrs. Nick Worzalla, Doylestown; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Barbara Singer, a patient at the Portage County Infirmary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral of Mrs Zblewski: funeral services were held Monday morning at St Peter's Catholic Church for Mrs Clementina Zblewski, 121 Portage St., who died Friday. The Rev. Bernard Nowak sang the funeral mass and conducted burial rites in Guardian Angel Cemetery. The Rev Emil Hodnik, of St Mary's Church at Custer was present in the sanctuary.

Pallbearers were Jack Jerzak, Thaddeus Jerzak, Henery Maslowski, Robert Hay, Donald Somers and Sgt.1.C. Savery Jerzak.

Attending the funeral were Elmer Kinateder, Milwaukee; Sgt 1.C and Mrs. Savery Jerzak and family, Muskego; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Disher, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs Nick Worzalla and son, Doylestown; Miss Delores Okoneski, Crystal Falls, Mich. and others from Stevens Point and surrounding vicinity.

Obituary

Peter Okonieski

Peter Okonieski, 37, of Shawano, son of Mrs. Clementia Zblewski, 121 Portage street, died Monday morning at 10 o'clock at Memorial hospital at Sheboygan after a long illness.

Mr. Okonieski was born on April 6, 1901, at Bevent. He came to Stevens Point as a boy and attended Grant school and St. Peter's parochial school. When he was 17 he joined the navy and after serving four years, returned to Stevens Point. He went to Kohler 13 years ago and worked there until five years ago when he became ill. His marriage to Miss Loretta Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wagner of Sheboygan, took place on November 23, 1926.

Surviving are his wife, his mother, three sisters, Mrs. Ray Nueman of Beaver Dam, Mrs. Edward Eckman of Irma, and Mrs. Agnes Jerzak , 234 North Second street, and a brother, Steve Okonieski of Marquette Michigan.
