Obituary

Mrs. Anton Brathovde

Mrs. Anton Brathovde, 47, West Allis, died at 9:30 a.m. at West Allis Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a former Portage County resident.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst with the Rev. A. P. Tidemann officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst.

Friends may call at the Jungers Funeral Home in Amherst after 3 p.m. Wednesday and until 11 a.m. Thursday, and at the church prior to services.

Mrs. Brathovde was born March 23, 1921 in the town of Grant to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Disher. She was married June 27, 1918 to Anton Brathovde at Plover. The Brathovdes have lived in the Milwaukee area for the past 27 years.

She is survived by her husband; a son, James of West Allis; a daughter, Mrs Marilyn Minkley of Alevandria, La.; her mother, Mrs. Mathilda Frydach of Stevens Point; four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Schlichting of Stevens Point, Mrs. Katherine Waiter of Stevens Point, Mrs. Francis Wasieleski of Plover and Mrs. Anna Schomberg of Madison; Four brothers, Jacob of Milwaukee, John of Hales Corner, Aloise of Milwaukee and Theodore of Stevens Point, and eight grandchildren.

Brathovde Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. Anton Brathovde, 47 West Allis, were held Thursday afternoon at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst with Rev. A. P. Tidemann officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst.

Music included "The Old rugged Cross" and "Take My Hand O Precious Lord."

Pallbearers were Arvid Brathovde, Joseph Bell, Florian Disher, Raymond Disher, Leonard Wasieleski and Donald Waiter.

Relatives and friends attended from Alexandria, La., Hales Corners, New Berlin, Milwaukee, Wet Allis, West Bend and Stevens Point area.

Mrs. Brathovde was the former Evelyn K. Disher. She was born March 23, 1921 in the Town of Grant to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Disher. She married Anton Brathovde at Plover June 27, 1938. The Brathovdes lived in the Milwaukee area for the past 27 years.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, James of West Allis and Richard of West Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Minkley of Alexandra, La.; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Schlichting and Mrs. Katherine Waiter, both of Stevens Point, Mrs. Frances Wasieleski of Plover and Mrs. Anna Schomberg of Madison, and four brothers, Jacob and Alois, both of Milwaukee, John of Hales Corner and Theodore of Stevens Point.

Obituary

Anton Brathovde

Anton "Tony" Brathovde, 78, Iola, died Sunday, June 13, 1993, at the Appleton Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Iola. the Rev. Albert E. Houts will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Amherst.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Voie Funeral Home, Iola, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church.

Mr. Brathovde was born May 24, 1915, in the town of Lanark, a son of the late Andrew and Signe Brathovde.

He was married to Evelyn Disher. She died in 1968.

He was married to Dorothy Ausprung on June 18, 1977. She survives.

He was employed at a Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps camp for a while.

He was a sheet metal worker for more than 42 years.

Mr. Brathovde was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sheet Metal Workers No. 18 and the Tomorrow River Conservation Club.

Survivors besides his wife include two sons, James (Anne), Marinette, and Richard, Grafton; one daughter, Marilyn (Don) Minkley, Oklahoma City, Okla.; four stepdaughters, Karen (Tom) Trapp, Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Linda Ausprung, Laurie Bahr, and Janice (Robert) Kastner, all of Milwaukee; five stepsons, Robert Ausprung, Milwaukee, David Ausprung, Pewaukee, and Larry (Karen) Ausprung, James (Barabara) Ausprung and Daniel Ausprung, all of New Berlin; one brother, Arvid, Amherst; one sister, Evelyn Bell, Wausau; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchildren.
